        ERIC B. MAYS FOUNDATIONS

Inaugural Launch Celebration

Saturday, November 21, 2026 | 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM

University of Michigan-Flint, Riverfront Conference Center

Flint, Michigan

Join us for a historic occasion: the official public debut of the Eric B. Mays Foundations in Flint, the city Councilman Eric B. Mays called home and served for more than a decade.

Honoring Mr. Point of Order

Councilman Eric Bradford Mays represented Flint’s First Ward on City Council until his passing in 2024. A proud union leader and a man of deep faith, he was known for a fearless, unfiltered style that made him a national voice for the poorest and most overlooked communities in Michigan.

He was recognized by EBONY Magazine for his work as a public servant, activist, and advocate. His influence reached across party lines and far beyond Flint. Rickey Smiley called him his idol, and communities across the country sought his voice in the fight for justice. He also served as Vice President of the NAACP Michigan State Conference.

His guiding belief, “The power of the people is greater than the people in power,” defined his life’s work. Today, it anchors everything the Foundation does.

A Mission Carried Forward

This celebration marks the beginning of a new chapter: honoring his legacy while launching programs that will serve seniors, families, students, and communities in need for years to come.
